I've wanted another tattoo ever since I got my first one when I was 16. I finally decided I had the money and I made an appointment to get it done. I had put it off for so long because some appointments needed to be booked a long time in advance and I knew by the time that date came around I would have spent my money. I made the appointment and the week passed slowly but was here at last. I debated if I should take a picture in or not and at the last minute decided not to.

I asked a friend of mine to come with me who politely declined because they do not care for tattoos at all. I ended up bringing my mom along with me and my grandmother waited in the car because she would've been quite bored in the shop. When I first got there I felt a little seasick but nothing too bad. I was expecting to feel more nervous than I did. I had showed up a little early to look through the books of flash. As I flipped through the books I found a few possible future tattoos in there that I really liked but as for the one I was about to get Well I knew what I wanted and I had told them but I still didn't have a specific picture. As I flipped through the books I realized there wasn't anything I wanted and I could picture the font I wanted in my head but there wasn't an example similar to it in the book. I looked around the shop and found a cursive font I liked on a shirt.

Maggie the artist was out to lunch and she came back soon after and asked me what I wanted to get. We went over to the computer and looked up a 4 leaf clover on Google images. I picked out the one I wanted and she told me if it were bigger she could make it look more realistic. I explained I didn't want that because I wanted it to be pink and shaded with hot pink. I showed her the font on the shirt and told her I wanted it to say Lucky above the clover. She sketched it up for me and once I saw how good it looked on paper I knew it would look amazing on my skin.

She had prepared everything in the back while I waited, I saw her put on new gloves and take out a new needle. I watched her do everything she had to do to get ready and how extremely clean it all was. She was ready to start and told me to let her know if I needed a break. When we first started I thought since it was on my ankle and I had heard this was painful that maybe I'd ask for a break after the outline.

Well the outline was done and I figured might as well just do it all in one shot. Next was the font which was to be done all in black and surprisingly that went fast as well. The part that I would have to say caused a bit of pain was the shading. That overall was the only part that kind of irritated me. It wasn't painful because we kept the conversation going although I will admit it was quite annoying and I did dig my nails into the arm of the chair at parts. I found that keeping a conversation going helped pass the time faster and take what little pain there was away. We chatted about several things, mainly my reason for getting the tattoo which is for my dog Lucky. She asked if I was okay several times throughout the tattoo and if I needed a break.

I still stuck with it and felt that I might as well go without a break because it wasn't hurting nearly as much as I had expected it would. Overall it was not that bad as I had assumed it would be. She wrapped up my new tattoo, gave me my aftercare ointment and instructions. I paid the $70 plus tip and walked out thrilled that I finally got my tattoo I've been wanting for so long and happy with the meaning it has behind it!

It's been one week and my tattoo still has a little bit of healing left to do. I've called the shop to check in with a few questions here and there that they're always happy to answer. I'm dealing with the typical flaking and healing process. I'm following all the aftercare instructions perfectly and should be healed up within one more week. Overall this was a great experience and I would recommend this shop and this artist to anyone in a heartbeat!
