For whatever reason I woke up feeling itchy and cabin fevery. Usually I am quite content to stay home (when i'm not working)and read a few books or waste a few brain cells watching TV, or taking a long and wonderful nap after a hard day of assisting the senior technicians at my place of employment. Naps are my favorite. I came home from work, desperatly wanting to get out of the house and do something, like go shopping or run around with people and commit random acts of public awkward ness. But no one was available to run around and my boyfriend and /or chauffeur(joking) resisted the idea of shopping ( he always does, *sigh* men),so I sat around being incessantly bored.

But out of my incessant bordom came a great and wonderful( if somewhat painful) thing . I got my first ever tattoo. Before I had avoided them because I couldn't afford one and also because my dad threatened to cut off any section of skin that was tattooed.Lovely imagery right) I came across The Raiden Tattoo Parlor on one of my previous shopping trips, as it was located in the same strip mall as one of my many favorite thrift stores. Earlier today I was itching to spend my hard earned paycheck on something frivolous and wonderful. I originally decided on a tongue piercing, having read every story BME has on the subject. But when I arrived at Raiden , I was saddened by both the news that the piercer could not be reached at present time and also because of the violent sade of pink paint on the walls.Though it did make for a good conversation starter.

However,I had gotten an estimate on a small tattoo that I lusted after as well. Since my piercing had been unfortunatly delayed, I decided to go ahead with the tattoo instead. After an interesting debate about a color scheme ( it changed from red/black to black /white and finally to green/purple with a black outline and white-face ) K.D. drew my Milenko ( an evil-looking wizard clown dude) and set him on my upper left arm. I loved his location so I was prepped and ready to be inked. While the station was being prepared I browsed though 5 different flash art books looking at all the other pretty tattoos. it seems that girls are fond of butterflies and like things. I 'm not sure why, personally I generally dislike butterflies but then i've always been rather different. The flash art displays in the shop were so amazing, so detailed and colorful . I loved all of them. Then I had to get in the chair and await my ink.The sound of the buzzing needle gun scared the life out of me, I can't lie. I wasn't entirely sure that I could go through with it.,then I thought about the older people and young teenagers (like 14-15) who get tattooed and i told myself to stop being a wuss. But when he began to apply the first lines, it was such a rush........then the pain set in.

At first it felt like a buzzing knife was cutting me open ,then it started to calm down a bit , still stinging a little , enough for me to nearly fracture my boyfriend's hand ,who was there for moral support. He accidentailly made me giggle by talking about inner butt tattoos with my tattoo artist .The top and the outline hurt the most,I think, though the final green coloring nearly made me tear. K.D was very cool about my nervous-ness. The purple coloring stung a bit here and there but i think my arm fell asleep somewhere between the outline and the first touches of purple. I think I squirmed a little when he was finishing the outline but other then that I suprised myself with my calmness. Finally,K.D finished and as he cleaned up and bandaged my Milenko, he talked me through the caring process , and offered to whiteface Milenko for free when I go in next month for my piercing.

I went to my parents house to show them and they actually liked it alot which was suprising, given previous discussions on the subject. My brother, who got a very horrible home tattoo was so annoyed at my lovely ink, which made the whole experance alot funnier.

It's been 2 hours since I got home from the shop and I can't stop looking at my beautiful new Milenko. He does hurt a bit though but I don't mind that too much.I just want to play with him but I know I can't yet.I can't wait to get more tattoos and finally some super awsome piercings. I fell in love with Raiden and I have made an appointment to get my tongue pierced there in June. But that, my pets, is a Tale for another Time !
