You may have read about my first part of this tattoo on this site before. Two tattoos after that, I decide I need (okay, want) to get my Murderdolls ghoul scout tattoo finished. So I wander down to Gravity and book a time for a week or so later. I actually forget about the tattoo for a couple days, and then it is finally the night before. This is when a friend loses his tongue barbell after getting it pierced a couple hours before so I rush over there with my 'scary' clamps and a package of gloves and try to get the barbell back in... unfortunately this was about an hour after it had fallen out, and my friend has a pretty pain tolerance so we don't get it back in. (sorry for being so off topic, back to the tattoo...).

This morning I get picked up by my friend and his dad and off we go to town where my friend wants to get his tongue looked at and re pierced (he didn't get it re pierced; like I said to him, he's got a week or two to wait before he can do so). So I get stranded in town, and wait around in the freezing cold until Richard opens his shop. I finally make my way into the shop and go stand under the heater and thaw out for about ten minutes. By then I'm almost warm enough to take my jersey off. Low backed tops + winter = not fun, by the way. Richard prints out the design and gets it onto my skin. I sit down on a chair with my back facing him, and he sets out the inks (red and black) etc.
The outline was painful, I won't lie. It felt as if someone was cutting open my back with a rather blunt razor blade, over and over again. I tried to concentrate on my breathing but it did not help so I just grinned (okay, grimaced) and beared it. Unfortunately this was the only time I have been tattooed without a friend with me to help distract me and lend me their hand to hold (read: dig my nails into). Thankfully that part did not last for long although at the time it felt like an eternity. Soon enough he changed the needles to do the shading and filling in which was a lot less painful. That part could even be described as relaxing. When he got onto the red outline, it was a bit more painful, but definitely bearable. And Richards usual stream of chatter helped, although the mental image of him pole dancing did not (yeah, don't ask =s).
After about an hour we were done, and Richard got a mirror so I could admire it. It's slightly different from the original design, and I love it. It was a bit bland as it was before today, although really cute. Richard covered it up and gave me some ointment. We chatted for a while before I realised what the time was, and that my bus was going to leave in a few minutes, so I chucked on my jersey and ran through town. I got there just in time, thank god.
My tattoo's a bit tender, but of course that's to be expected. I got home a while ago, and my sister refused to help with cleaning it up so I had to try and do it myself with my back to the mirror. My mom got home a little while after me and immediately asked to see it. Thankfully she seemed to like it, which I don't think she was prepared for.
Two weeks later It's now two weeks later, and my tattoo is doing well. It drove me crazy with the itchy, but that seems to be almost over and it's looking and feeling good. I want to go over the grey wash because it's not quite dark enough for my liking. So far I've had nothing but positive comments about the tattoo. Next on my agenda is a spinal tattoo, more or less like a 'fish bone' design, starting just under the Murderdolls one, and maybe going up the back of my neck about this one.
Please note that I did not choose this tattoo because I like the band, Murderdolls. I first decided I would like the design as a tattoo before I knew who they were, or before I knew it was their logo (I can't remember which). I do love the band, but that is only the icing on top of the cake. I don't think I'd ever get a band tattoo just because I like the band, because no bands thus far in my life have really changed my life or anything like that, and I really don't think that I'll always have the same taste in music!
Here is a picture of the tattoo on the day I got it. Feel free to let me know what you think of it.
